Route Surveying Services in Georgia

At Wide Load Shipping, we conduct route surveys to ensure your load complies with regulations and to identify the most suitable routes. The Georgia Department of Transportation requires physical route and height surveys for all routes taken by overlength and over-height loads 110 feet long or exceeding 13 feet 6 inches in height. Route surveying aims to identify railway crossings, overhead utilities, tight turns, and height clearances of bridges and underpasses along the route an oversized load will take. Some of the best roadways for your oversized load in Georgia include;

  • Interstate 75 (I-75): This major north-south route runs through Georgia. It’s preferred for oversized transport.
  • Interstate 85 (I-85): linking Atlanta to Montgomery, Alabama.
  • Interstate 20 (I-20): Runs east-west across the state. It provides access for oversized vehicles, particularly from the Alabama border to South Carolina.
  • U.S. Route 41:  it parallels I-75.
  • U.S. Route 80: Connects various cities in the state.
